I was the creative brain behind the project. Since I have connections with the FUtones acapella group, I coordinated interviews and filming sessions to gather Vroll. We took turns editing the video. I did my best to fine tune audio even though it is not perfect. I was also the narrator of the film. The most challenging process was post-production. I never realized just how many hours go into creating a video.
I learned that attention to detail is crucial to making a good quality video. Videography is an art that is more than just shooting a video and slapping the footage together. The postproduction process takes hours upon hours. The process for my group took a total of eight hours. While we got a lot done and created a video we were proud of the video could still use more work! For this video to be up to par with the vision from which it was inspired.
I hope to take these new found editing skills to develop my eye for detail further. The editing process is, so detail oriented. Having my group members to catch details I had yet to notice was helpful. Having those extra eyes on the project stressed the importance of proofreading, especially having an external person proofread the work so the work can be reviewed by a fresh and unbiased set of eyes.
