Furman University brings in Lelia King, an established member of the communications industry in Greenville, SC, as a Professional-in-Residence.

Goals of Communications Studies Professional-in-Residence Program

  1. Provide networking opportunities for Communication Majors.
  2. exemplify the relationship between classroom learning and working in a community industry. The series of courses are intended to convey the following content: relevance of theory, concepts, and analytical and critical thinking.

Lelia King is well established in the Greenville area’s communication industry. King will share her insights of the communications industry and make that insight applicable to students. She has had experience in both nonprofit such as Build Carolina, as well as corporate such as serving as a communications director at Goodwill in Charlotte, NC. Over a decade of experience qualifies her to bring the industry to life for Furman University Communication Studies majors, as well as the greater Furman student population.
